Police on Tuesday night arrested a BNP leader for his alleged involvement in recent attacks on the Hindu community in Nasirnagar upazila.
The arrestee was identified as Amirul Hossain Chakder, president of Nasirnagar sadar union unit of BNP.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in Nasirnagar Bazar area and arrested Amirul at night, said Officer-in-Charge of Nasirnagar Police Station Abu Jafar.
