BNP lacks democratic practices: Quader

Ruling Awami League General Secretary and Road Transports and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said, “There are no democratic practices in the BNP.”
“A BNP leader has announced his son’s name as the party’s Mayor candidate in the by- election of Dhaka North City Corporation. It exposes that the party does not practices democracy,” Obaidul Quader said while distributing blankets among the poor people on

the Bangabandhu Avenue in front of the party’s central office.
“We have heard Abdul Awal Mintoo, a central leader of the BNP, to have announced the name of his son Tabith Awal as mayor candidate in the upcoming DNCC by-polls'”, Quader said.
“Awami League will not follow such practise. The local government nomination board of our party will nominate suitable candidate for Mayor post,” he said.
Quader said also the government has no involvement in the BNP Chief Khaleda Zia’s cases.
The ruling party General Secretary said that the family members of Abdul Awal Mintoo were reportedly involved with the Paradise Paper graft scam.
