Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said the leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami are trying to turn the country into a dysfunctional state by creating anarchy.
He said this on Thursday while speaking at a discussion meeting in Savar organized by the local Awami League marking the National Mourning Day and the 41st martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister said when the country is progressing toward development and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists are trying to hinder it by launching attacks at different places.
He said tough actins would be taken against the BNP-Jamaat men if they try to create anarchy in the country anymore.
Savar Upazila AL President Hasina Doula, Joint Secretary Manjurul Alam Rajib, Tentuljhora Union Council Chairman Fakhrul Alam and Upazila Juba League General Secretary Nasir Uddin attended the meeting, among others.
After the discussion, the minister distributed food among the destitute.
