BSS, Dhaka :
Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said BNP now wants to leave its ally Jamaat-e-Islami to serve their narrow political interest.
“The decision of leaving Jamaat from their alliance is a part of political conspiracy . . . Everyone should remain alert about this,” he said this on Friday while speaking at a discussion at Bangabandhu Avenue here.
Quamrul, also joint-general secretary of city Awami League, said they (BNP) want to cut off the ties with Jamaat as part of their political strategy but not for any ideological reason.
He said BNP and Jamaat are still hatching conspiracy to create anarchy and instability across the country.
Bangabandhu Sainik League organized the discussion on the occasion of the first death anniversary of injured freedom fighter Alhaj Bazlur Rahman with Sheikh Omar Faruk in the chair.
The minister termed the killings of two foreigners as a part of a deep-rooted conspiracy to destroy the image of Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh in many ways.
Dhaka city unit of AL Vice-President Shahe Alalm Murad, Acting President of Bangabandhu Sainik League MA Kashem, Hedayetul Islam Swapan and K M Mujibur Rahman, among others, spoke on the occasion.
