‘BNP-Jamaat fails to make country as Pakistan’

Terming military dictator Ziaur Rahman as the main beneficiary of August 15 carnage, leaders of Chattogram city unit of Awami League (AL) alleged Zia wanted to implement Pakistani agenda but failed to make Bangladesh as Pakistan.
“BNP-Jamaat has now again come down on the field to destabilize the country and fulfill the failed dream of Zia,” they said.
The AL leaders said this on the first instant at the gathering before paying tribute to Bangabandhu’s biggest sculpture at Halishahar Barapole intersection on Monday morning on the day of the beginning of the month-long mourning programme of the month of August, initiated by Chattogram city unit of Awami League, reports BSS.
City unite AL president Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury, its general secretary and former city mayor AJM Nashir Uddin, City AL Vice President Alhaj Naeem Uddin Chowdhury, Alhaj Khorshed Alam Sujan, Alhaj Altaf Hossain Chowdhury Bachchu, city AL Advisor Alhaj Safar Ali, Organizing Secretaries Noman Al Mahmud and Shafiq Adnan, joint secretaries Alhaj Shafiqul Islam Farooq, Syed Hasan Mahmud Shamser and Advocate Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury, AL leaders Chandan Dhar, Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury, Haji Mohammad Hossain, Haji Zahur Ahmad, Abdul Ahad, Kamrul Hasan Bulu, Morshed Akhtar Chowdhury, among others, were participated in the function.
