City Desk :
Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League Presidium member Obaidul Quader on Friday said the politics of BNP has fallen into quicksand of errors as they are enemies of themselves now. “We [Awami League] are not anxious about BNP rather we are mulling over the religious extremist cliques being patronized and encouraged by the poltical party,” he told an anti-militancy rally of Magura district unit of Awami League (AL) at Nomani Maidan in the town. He urged all sections of people to raise strong voice against the venom of militancy and terrorism.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder, AL organizing secretary BM Mozammel Huq, MP, Major General (retd) ATM Abdul Wahab, MP, Kamrul Laila Joly, MP, Prime Minister’s assistant private secretary Saifuzzaman Shekhor, zila parishad administrator Syed Sariful Islam and Magura district AL general secretary Pankaj Kundu spoke on the occasion, among others. District unit AL president Tanjel Hossain Khan was in the chair.
The minister said the country will not be derailed as long as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is steering the country. “Bangladesh is graduating towards a middle income country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Her leadership is being praised in the entire world,” Quader added.
The minister said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had brought independence and now his daughter Sheikh Hasina is materializing his unfinished work for turning the country into Sonar Bangla. “The people have boycotted those who wanted to erase the name of our unparalleled leader Bangabandhu from the history of Bangladesh under an orchestrated plot assassinating him and most of his family members,” he added.
