Hours after BNP leader Abdul Awal Mintoo failed to resurrect his bid in court, the party has thrown its support for his son Tabith Mohammed Awal in Dhaka North City Corporation mayor vote. ‘Adarsha Dhaka Andolan’ Convener Emajuddin Ahamed announced the decision after meeting Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday night. Mintoo lost the last hope when the Supreme Court rejected his petition to overturn Election Commission’s decision to cancel his nomination earlier in the day.
