BNP candidates being attacked: Rizvi

A good number of BNP candidates came under attacks of the ruling party activists and others across

the country so far, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed claimed on Saturday. Of them, two BNP contenders have been kept in jail deliberately, Rizvi claimed it at a press conference held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka on Saturday noon.
The attacks are going on in most of the 300 Parliamentary Constituencies under the very nose of police, he said.
Apart from this, the ruling party activists are also removing the posters and banners of the BNP candidates and vandalized their loudspeakers, said Rizvi, also party spokesperson.
Holding the Election Commission (EC) responsible for the attacks and obstruction, Rizvi said, the Commission and the government are the two sides of the same coin.
The BNP candidates’ rights to election campaign are being thrashed, but the people are with us.
