BMCCI’s 3-day Showcase from tomorrow

Bangladesh -Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) is going to arrange three days showcase in Dhaka, where more than 100 Malaysian companies will participate to display their products and will arrange seminars.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Norlin Binti Othman said,
they have no security problem in Bangladesh and feel comfort with the current environment.
In replying to a question, Norlin Binti Othman said, a good number of tourists are traveling Malaysia every year and eight planes fly to Kualalumpur every day from Dhaka.
Malaysian tourism minister will visit Dhaka in December to sign deal to work expansion of tourism between the two countries, she said.
Miss Norlin said they even did not issue any travel advisory for their nationals, who are in Bangladesh and those who want to arrive here.
The envoy said also people, including businessmen, are coming to Bangladesh to attend the fourth Showcase Malaysia in Dhaka without any problem.
The showcase will be held on October 15- 17 in the Grand Ballroom of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka in collaboration with high Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka and Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia.
The showcase is supported by Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation, Malaysia South-South Association (MASSA) while strategic partner are Board of Investment (BOI), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).
A total of 55 stall of Malaysian companies including manufacturers, exporters, traders, educational institutions, service providers, telecommunication, banking, insurance, information technology, tourism, health care and medical personnel will participate.
BMCCI will arrange seminar on Bangladesh-Malaysia trade relationship: Opportunities and challenge, Malaysia healthcare opportunities, Tourism opportunities in Bangladesh and Malaysia.
In reply to a question former president of BMCCI and Chairman of the Showcase Syed Moazzam Hossain said, Bangladesh has been suffering from a chronic trade deficit with Malaysia which is grown every year.
“We exported goods worth $135 million in 2013-14 fiscal year to Malaysia against their exports to Bangladesh worth of $ 2.08 billion the same year”, he said.
