A park in remote village of Sailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah has been attracting the people of the locality as well as other areas within two years of its establishments as the number of visitors has been increasing day by day.
Only half of a kilometre metal road and electricity connection for the park might help increase the beauty of the park which could attract more people and ensure income of non-profit Blueman Grameen Park at Chhoto Dhalaharachandra village Sailkupa.
College students Sefali Khanam, Mahmud Hasan, Saiful Mollah, Sefayet Hossain, Raju Ahmed and Farid Khan during their visit at Blueman Grameen Park said, they were very impressed when the authority had established the park in remote village, located at least 10 kilometres east from the upazila head quarters of Sailkupa.
Schoolgirls Namita Biswas, Shewly Kabir, Sajeda Khatun and Farhana Sabah when asked said, the park was a blessing to the rural people, especially women at it was the first ever in remote village in Jhenaidah.
A number of nods, electric train, boat of Sindbad, wheels and other rides, at least seven ponds enriched with various decorations, idols of tiger, lion, Ziraf, elephant, peacock, frogs, princess of water fish, huge trees, especially mango orchards, elderly home, madrashah and some other items attract the eyes of the viewers. Further, live Madraji horse, turkey birds, huge pigeons, tortoise, hare etc. satisfies the visitors.
The income from the non-profit park would be spent for the development of the elderly home, madrashsh and some other educational and charitable sectors for the vulnerable community of people.
School teacher Ayesha Khatun when asked at the park venue said the students of her school, as well as other schools and colleges were benefited from the park as they have been introduced with new birds, animals, tress and others everyday.
Moreover, a number of elderly people who actually did not have any shelter for their own, were benefited from the elderly home inside the park.
A resident of the elderly home Amirul Seikh of Dhaura village said, a number of elderly men like him were provided in the shelter where they receive the services from the park authority free of cost. It was really a blessing for the vulnerable people like him, Amirul said.
A service holder Habibul Hasan and business man Ananta Das during their visit at Blueman Grameen Park at the park expressed their concern that the only road, length about half of a kilometre from local Dhaurah Bazer, was an earth made one that becomes unfit in the monsoon.
Further, the connection of electricity was not available at the park make the visit to the parl almost meaningless for the visitors, they said.
Mostafa Azmal Mukul, director of Blueman Grameen Park said, his park was established on 45 bighas of land in the village. It could be model ones for the people of the rural Bangladesh as it was at least 35 kilometres far from the district head quarters.
Many development projects, specially, charitable ones might be taken considering the park in the rural village, Mukul expressed his hope.
Syed Wahedul Alam Labu, founder of Blueman Grameen Park said, the objectives of the park at Chhoto Dhalarachandra village under Sailkupa upazila was to ensure recreation facilities for the rural people in the locality, as well as other surrounding people.
The people from other areas could visit the park to witness the same for it’s new animals, birds, trees and other species in near future that could be a model of learning and education for the people.
Labu said, the park was established in 2013 to ensure recreation facilities, education and learning for the people. The income from the park would be spent for the development of the elderly home, madrashsh and some other educational and charitable activities for the vulnerable community of people as it was completely a non-profit organization.
A half of a kilomertre metal road and electricity connections might help ensure better and richer services to the people, Labu said.
