Blue Whale addict teen admitted to DMCH

A teenager addicted by internet-based game ‘Blue Whale’ was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday after being sick.
The addicted boy told media that he was involved in the game after knowing from different friends. “I start the game as I feel challenge in it. It was very charming to me to take new challenges from the game.”
“The admin of the game frequently humiliated me. They labeled me as a foolish. So I tried to overcome the challenges to prove me a brave,” the teenager said.
He said, “I felt sick for last few days, but I asked my mother not to bring me to any clinic or hospital. Because, I thought that I may not recover there. But she ignored my request and admitted me to the DMCH.”
His parents and physicians said that he cut different places of his body after being directed from the admin of the game. In its last stage he had taken sleeping pills to commit suicide.
 The doctors found several injuries from blades in different places of his body. Doctors give him blood as he was suffering from shortage of blood.
“We have brought him to the hospital. Please, no more detail now,” his father said.
Earlier on Thursday, police recovered the body of a schoolgirl, Apurba Bardhan Swarna, from Central road in the city. Relatives suspect that she was addicted by the Blue Whale game.
Besides this, some reports also found that the teenagers being hospitalized after being sick from the game in Chittagong, Comilla and other districts across the country.
The Blue Whale game, also known as “Blue Whale Challenge”, is a 21st-century  
 social network phenomenon that is claimed to exist in several countries, beginning 2016.
The game reportedly consists of a series of tasks assigned to players by administrators over a 50-day period, with the final challenge requiring the player to commit suicide.
Report from some international news agencies said that around 180 persons have committed suicide across the world after being blackmail from the game.
