Blockade passes off its 25th day

Two buses were torched and several crude bombs blasted in the capital as the countrywide indefinite transport blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance passed off its 25th day on Friday almost peacefully.
Sources at the Fire Service Central Control Room said an
Adamjee-bound bus of ‘Komal Bus Service’ was set afire on Kaptanbazar Flyover around 2:35pm.
Another bus of ‘Victor Paribahan’ set alight at Tantibazar intersection around 8:28am.
However, no casualty was reported in the two fire incidents.
Besides, several crude bombs were blasted in front of Bangla Academy that left two pedestrians injured.
Meanwhile, no procession or picketing was seen in support of the blockade in the capital while vehicles plied the city streets as usual.
There was no report of any incident of violence from anywhere across the country on 25th day of the indefinite blockade.
In Barisal, suspected blockaders set fire to Dhaka-bound launch in Hosnabad area of Gournadi upazila hurling a petrol bomb in the evening,  
leaving two passengers injured. Launch supervisor Humayun Kabir said the miscreants threw the petrol bomb at the deck of the launch ‘MV Manoshi-2’ around 6pm.
In Brahmanbaria, police in separate drives arrested 100 people, including 11 BNP men, from different places of the district from Thursday night to Friday morning for their suspected link to sabotage.
In Sylhet, miscreants torched a truck at Latipur on Kumargaon-Telibazar bypass road in South Surma upazila around 11pm on Thursday.
