Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said that the law enforcement agencies will continue block raiding at the of militants’ den.
“It’s a routine work, and the Kalyanpur raid was part of the ‘block raid’ and it will continue,” he told journalists at his Secretariat office in city yesterday.
At least nine alleged militants were killed and another detained with bullet injuries as security forces overnight raided a terrorist hideout at a multi-storied residential building at Kalyanpur in the city.
“The militants killed in the Kalyanpur operation were members of banned terror outfit Jamiatul Mujahedeen Bangladesh (JMB). They were plotting to commit big subversive acts. Acting on a tip off, the members of law enforcement agencies conducted the block raid,” he said.
He called upon the people to inform the police about any suspicious militant activity in their surrounding.
Replying to a query, Asaduzzaman said JMB, Harkat Ul Jihad and Ansarullah Bangla Team, all are the same.
“They are hatching conspiracy to destabilise the country and embarrass the government. There’s nothing to be worried about it,” he said.
He said after observing the clothes and explosives found from the Kalyanpur den, it could be said it has a link to the Gulshan-Sholakia terror attacks, but the law enforcement agencies are investigating it and it can be confirmed after the investigation.
Besides, samples from the bodies of the nine suspected militants will be sent for visceral test to confirm the presence of any drug, he added.
