The Blazer BD BKSP Cup Archery Championship under the auspices of Bangladesh Krira Sikkha Protishtan (BKSP) with the help of Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) begins today (Wednesday) at BKSP football ground-1 in Savar.
Youth and Sports Secretary Kazi Akhteruddin Ahmed will inaugurate the three-day meet in the afternoon although the competition will begin in the morning.
Forty-seven men and 32 women from eight teams will compete in the meet for 10 gold medals of the re-curve and combined divisions in team event, mixed doubles and singles event.
The participating teams are: Dhaka Army Archery Club, ASPTS Archery Club, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Tirondaj Sangsad, The Blazer BD, Quantum Foundation, BKSP High Performer team and BKSP team.
BAF General Secretary Kazi Razibuddin Ahmed Chapal, who is also the Treasurer of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), disclosed these at a press conference at the BOA Dutch-Bangla Auditorium on Tuesday.
BKSP Director General Brig Gen M Shamsur Rahman, its Deputy Director (training) Shamima Sattar Mimo and Director of The Blazer BD Ltd Kazi Rafid Ibne Razib were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on Friday.
