BJMC became champions of the EXIM Bank 25th National Women’s Handball Championship when they defeated Bangladesh Ansar by 24-15 goals in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday.
The winners led the first half 9-5.
Shirina Akhter of BJMC scored 10 goals and her teammates Sahida Khatun, Sumi Begum netted four goals each.
On the other hand, Ismat Ara Nishi of runners-up Bangladesh Ansar scored six goals.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Police finished third when they beat Panchgarh district team by 20-16 goals in a place-deciding match at the same venue on the same day.
After the final match, President of FBCCI Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Kazi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary of BHF Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Secretary of the Organizing Committee Md Makbul Hossain, Assistant Secretary of the Organizing Committee Salauddin Ahmed were present at the time.
