The 7th Debate Festival of Bangladesh Islami University Debating Club (BIUdc) concluded on Saturday at the university auditorium.
The 2-day long festival started on Friday morning with a colorful procession marched the city’s major streets.
A total of 300 students of the university took part in public speaking (Bangle and English) and parliamentary debate during the festival.
BIU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Anwarullah Chowdhury was the chief guest at the prize giving ceremony, while treasurer AMM Reza-e-Rabbi presided over the program.
Among others Chairman of Business Administration Dr Md. Arshad Ali Matubber, Registrar Prof Md Yusuf, Chairman of National Debate Federation BD AKM Shoiab, Deputy Registrar Morshedur Rahman, BIUdc director Md Abdullah Al Zobair, Tariq Iqbal, Saif Ahmed Khan Rizvi, Mohammad Shoyaeb, Sobhan Ali, Amitav Kumar Kundu were present. The program was anchored by BIUdc president Zahirul Islam. In the final round debaters of Law Faculty win the title while Islamic Studies runner-up.
Later, executive committee of 2014-15 batch led by Forhad Hossain-Harun or Rashid was formed.
