On that occasion, Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts & Theatre arranged a commemorative program on Zia Haider at Cultural Development Centre in Patiya on Wednesday .
The associates of Zia Haider remembered him through reciting his composed poem, drama rhyme and songs in the function. Among others, Executive Editor of BITA Shishir Dutta, Project Coordinator Pradip Achariya, Project Coordinator Bappa Chowdhury and other associates were present in the function.

He was born in Doharpara village of Pabna district on November 18, 1936.Zia Haider was a well versed in literacy work. His first nobel titled Kanna was published at his early age ., His first composed drama was Suvra Sundar Kaylani Ananda . He was the founder president of an social organization Nagarik Sampradaya (civic community) .
He composed 7 nobels, 4 Dramas and translated a number of dramas from foreign language. For his contribution in literacy, he gets Bangla Academy Award-1977 and Gold Medal of Folk Dramadak in 1996 and Ekushey Padak in 2001. In beginning of the program, his portail was garlanded with flowers.
