Narsingdi Correspondent :A discussion meeting and cultural function on the occasion of celebrating the 155th and 117th birth anniversary of world poet Rabindranath Tagore and our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam respectively was held at Zila Shilpakala Academy here in a befitting manner on Sunday. Organised by District administration, Narsingdi, Commissioner Of Dhaka Division Helaluddin Ahmed attended the function as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in the chair.Police Super Narsingdi Amena Begum BPM was present in the function as special guest.Prof Dr Dil Afroj Begum , educationist and Nazrul researcher, Prof Golam Mostafa Miah, former principal of Narsingdi Government College, Prof Kalam Mahamud former Principalof Narsingdi Government Women college, and Dr Moshiur Rahman Mirdha Principal of Abdul Kader Mollah City College addressed on “Rabindranath is the reflection of Bangalees, Nazrul is relevant still today.The speakers also paid rich tributes to the memory of the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and world poet Rabindranath Tagore and recalled their outstanding contributions in the field of Bengali literature.They also emphasized the need for continuous research on deep patriotism and rebellion song that inspired and boosted the commitment of the people of our independence.After the discussion, a cultural function was organized by Badhanhara, a cultural organisaion and Zila Shilpakala Academy .
