The 115th birth anniversary of renowned folk singer Bijoy Sarker who got ‘Ekushey Padak’ will be observed today in a befitting manner at his Dumdi village home under Sadar upazila of Narail district.
Loko Kabi Bijoy Sarker Sangsad and Birth Celebration Committee-2017 have chalked out a daylong programme to mark the day. Besides, various socio-cultural organizations will celebrate his birth anniversary in the region.
The two-day long Bijoygiti, Jari and Kabi songs and discussion will be held at Bijoy Sarker Mancha on February 24 & 25.
Lawmaker Advocate Sheikh Hafizur Rahman will attend the programme on February 24 as the chief guest while lawmaker Kabirul Haque Mukti of Narail-1 constituency on February 25 at the mancha.
