Birsreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf’s mother Mukidunnessa passed away on Thursday night at her village home at Roufnagar (formerly Salamatpur) under Madhukhali upazilla in Faridpur district. She was 94.She left behind two daughters and hundreds of mourners whom she regarded as her own sons after martyrdom of Rouf in the liberation war of 1971.
The first Namaz-e-Janaza of Mukidunnessa was held on Madhukhali upazilla headquarter Eidgah ground and the second one at Arpara BGB built residence after Juma prayers where she was buried. Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury and Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain expressed deep shock at the demise of Mukidunnessa and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
