State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur, MP today directed the authorities concerned to enforce law to keep the district town clean. He emphasized for establishing Bandarban as a “clean model town” in the country. The state minister came up with the directives while inaugurating a cleaning drive in the district headquarters.
He along with government officials and public representatives came to the road with groom stick and took part at cleaning streets, footpath, and alleys in the town. Local Press Club in cooperation with Bandarban Pourasobha organized the cleaning drive. Bandarban Army Region Commander Brig. General Nakib Ahmad, Hill Track Zila Parishad (acting) chairman, Poura Mayor Zabed Reza, Additional Deputy Commissioner M Faruk Hossain, Police Super Debdas Battcharya, Press Club President Professor M Osman Gani and Secretary Minarul Huq, among others, were present.
