The 16th death-anniversary of Biplobi Debendra Nath Ghosh, the legendary socio-political personality of the region and fighter of anti-imperialism and human rights movement, observed in Barisal on Sunday. ‘Biplobi Deben Ghosh Smriti Rokkha Committee’ organised a visit to his cemetery at Barisal Maha Shamshan Ghat on Sunday morning on this occasion.
Observing one minute silence for eternal blessings of the soul of the revolutionary leader, flower wrath was put on his cremation ground during the visit by the family members, followers of Deben Ghosh.Among others Akkas Hossain, freedom, Nazrul Islam Chunnu, cultural activists, Rakhal Chandra Dey, Advocate Suvash Chandra, social workers, Dilip Roy, Shangkar Chandra, teachersm, Nazrul Biswas, Shushanta Ghosh, journalists, attended the programme.
The participants remembering the life and achievement of Deben Ghosh called for building country with real patriotic sprit and welfare of mass people. They also stressed to follow his path of patriotism, welfare of people to build a corruption-free developed country sincerely.Deben Ghosh worked for the nation, country and society without any self interest and was detained in jail for long 26 years for his uncompromising attitude against the colonialists, imperialist, autocrats under British, Pakistani, Bangladeshi rulers, they remembered.
