Bangladesh Atomic Agriculture Research Institute (Bina), Director General Mirza Mofazzal Islam said that the use of pesticides as an alternative to chemical fertilizers would protect the environment on the one hand and increase the fertility of the land on the other. He said farmers are benefiting financially by using organic fertilizers during the tenure of the present government. He said that soon the germs will be available to the farmers. Dr Mirza Mofazzal Islam said the use of non-germicidal fertilizers would increase the production of pulses and oilseeds. He said the germs are cheap and environmentally friendly.
He said this while addressing a virtual speech of the chief guest at the farmers’ training titled ‘Benefits and Use Techniques of Peanuts in Peanuts’ at Tajhat Bina Kendra in Rangpur on Thursday morning.
