BINA employees protest DG’s sudden transfer order

Scientists and staff at Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) in Mymensingh on Monday protested the sudden transfer order of the Director General (DG) of the institution.
They urged the authority to withdraw the transfer order of the present DG, Dr AHM Abdur Razzaque.
The protest began after the arrival of the transfer order of present DG, signed by Farhana Airis, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, reached at BINA office on April 12.
In the order letter, BINA’s present DG Dr AHM Abdur Razzaque was transferred to Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) and Dr ASM Anoarul Haque, member director of BARC was appointed as new DG of BINA.
The leaders of scientists, officers, workers and labours association of BINA on Monday morning at a press conference urged the related ministry to withdraw the transfer order and restore Dr Razzaque to former position.
They also warned that the Government would be responsible for any unwanted situation if their demand is not met.
