BIMSTEC delegation visits BARI

A 12- member delegation of BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) has visited Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) on Thursday.
The delegation included representatives from Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand while Ms. Pasinee Napombejra, Policy and Plan Analyst of Office of Agricultural Economics, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand led the delegation. High officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) also accompanied the delegation.
Director (Training & Communication) Zebun Nessa, with other directors welcomed the delegation at the time of their arrival in the institute. Later, the delegation visited Soil Science Lab, IPM and Toxicology Lab and expressed their satisfaction by seeing the activities, advancement and achievements of BARI.
They also attended a brief session at the seminar of the Institute where Principal Scientific Officer of DG Office Dr. Dilwar Ahmed Choudhury gave brief Power Point presentation to the delegates on the activities and achievements of BARI. BARI Director (Oilseed) Dr. Md. Lutfur Rahman, Director (Training & Communication) Zebun Nessa, Director (Tuber Crops) Dr. A. K. M. Shamsul Haque, senior scientists, officers, among others, were present on the occasion.
