The BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectorial Technical & Economic Cooperation) leaders urged the FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) to take necessary steps for arranging a trade and investment forum engaging the BIMSTEC member countries, says a press release. The BIMSTEC leaders made the request at a meeting with FBCCI President on Wednesday at FBCCI. The BIMSTEC delegation led by M. Shahidul Islam, Secretary General of the organization also talked on SAFTA and other related issues with the apex trade body leader. Pankaj Hazarika, Director of BIMSTEC and Hussain Jamil, Secretary General (In Charge) of FBCCI also participated in the discussion. FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) briefed the mission on the current economic development of the country. He also emphasized on introducing ‘Travel Card’ for the business people for visiting around the BIMSTEC member countries.
