An intercity train, ‘Bijoy Express’, has been introduced on Chittagong-Mymensingh route in the name of Victory Day .
Railways Minister Mazibul Hoque inaugurated the train service on the new route in Mymensingh Railway Station at 8 pm on 19 December while Religious Affiars Minister Principal Matiur Rahman was present as special guest.
The train stops at some important stations such as Gouripur Railway Station, Kishoreganj Railway Station, Bhairab Railway Station, Comilla Railway Station., Laksam Railway Station, Feni Railway Station.
The ‘Bijoy Express’, having 12 bogies leaves Mymensingh for Chittagong at 8.00pm while Chittagong for Mymensingh at 7.20 am every day. Tuesday is a closing day at Mymensingh and Wednesday is a closing day at Chittagong. The train reaches at Gouripur Junction at 25pm. After the shunting process to roll engine, the train leaves Gouripur upazila at 8:45pm.
