Biennial election of Bangladesh Merchant Marine Officers Association for the session 2016-18 was held recently in the port city . Capt. Zillur Rahman Bhuyia and ASM Arifzzaman have been elected as President and General Secretary respectively.
The 17- member EC committee was elected while 30 candidates contested . The election was held b y secret ballot in its office premises. Other members of the Association are – vice presidents Md. Jaber, Hasan Kuddus, Shakawat Hossain, Asstt. Secretarys- Kazi abu Sayeed, Moshiur Rahman, Treasurer Md. Delwar Hossain, Asst. Treasurer Iftekhar Alam, organizing secretry Mahmudur Rahman, asstt. Organsising Secretary Abu Sufian, Jahid Kamal, Office S ecretary KM Saiful Islam, cultural Secretary Ali Hossain, sports secretary Saiful Islam, Asstt. Office Secretary Nasirulddin , Social Welfare Secretary Ashiq Imran.
The installation ceremony of the new committee will be held today at a city posh restaurant in port area in the evening , sources said.
