There was an attempt to abduct Ain O Shalish Kendra director (Investigation) Nur Khan on Thursday afternoon. The incident took place when Khan accompanied by one of his colleagues were coming out of Lalmatia office of ASK, a human rights body.
Nur Khan was on way to his Azimpur house when some unidentified persons in a micro tried to obstruct the rickshaw which he was riding. As he became suspicious of the micro-bus, so he quickly jumped from the rickshaw and ran to his office. In the process the abduction attempt was foiled.
Executive Director of ASK Sultana Kamal told the media that Nur Khan was vocal against abduction, kidnapping and recent Narayanganj seven murder. People against whom Nur Khan was vocal might be behind the abduction attempt of Nur Khan, she said.
Lalbagh police however, told the media in the evening that no case was recorded with his police station in this connection.
