UNB, Bhola :
Ferry service on the Bhola-Laxmipur route resumed after seven days of disruption on Sunday morning.
The ferry service was suspended on August 23 as the new ferry ghat was damaged by erosion by the river Meghna.
Ferry plying on the route resumed around 10am after Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority repaired the ferry ghat.
Abul Alam Hawladar, manager of BIWTC Bhola ferry ghat, said ‘Kanakchanpa’ ferry started its operation from the ghat in the morning.
Earlier on August 10, ferry service on the Bhola-Laxmipur route resumed 16 days after its suspension.
On July 26, ferry service on the route came to halt for erosion of the road up to Elisha Ferry Ghat by the Meghna.
