Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has withdrawn Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hosne Ara from the Bhashantek PS due to her negligence of duties over the killing of Nasir Hossain.
Kadamtali Police Station’s Inspector Abul Kalam Azad has been posted in her place.
Nishrul Arif, Deputy Commissioner, Mirpur Division of DMP, said that he had received a copy of Hosne Ara’s transfer order on Wednesday.
The decision was taken by the DMP after one criminals had killed Md Nasir Hossain who protested the teasing of his maternal cousin on Saturday..
Earlier, DMP suspended one sub-Inspector, five assistant sub-Inspectors and 14 constables for the same reason.
Police in the meantime had arrested a suspect identified as Sharif Hossain alias ‘Chakka’, from Tangail on Tuesday. He is an accused in the murder case.
Deputy Commissioner Arif said that a committee headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Jashim Uddin was formed to investigate.
