BGMEA launches training for youths of erstwhile enclaves

Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) launched month-long training course for 30 male and female youths of the erstwhile enclaves in Panchagarh district town from Thursday.
The cost-free training course is being arranged on ‘Sweater Knitting and Linking Machine Operation, at the Training Centre of Panchagarh Youth Development Office with a view to turn the youths into skilled human resources.
The BGMEA in association with the Youth Development Department has been organising the training course and the process will continue for the erstwhile socioeconomically backward enclave people to speed up their development.
The training course is aimed at appointing all of the unemployed 30 male and female trainee youths in the country’s export-oriented Readymade Garment Sector (RMG) at Dhaka as skilled human resources after completion of their training course.
Expert Trainers of BGMEA Ali Hassan and Sohrab Hossain have been conducting the course for making the participating youths from different erstwhile enclaves into skilled garment sector workers through providing them with practical knowledge and skill.
The cost-free training course will continue for mainstreaming the unemployed male and female youths of the erstwhile enclaves in turning them into skilled human resources for their employments to accelerate development of their backward areas.
General Secretary of Panchagarh District Awami League and Sadar Upazila Chairman Anwar Sadat Samrat inaugurated the training course, being jointly organised by BGMEA and Youth Development Department as the chiefguest.
Presided over by Deputy Director of the Youth Development Department for Panchagarh Abul Hossain, its Deputy Project Coordinator Mostafa Kamal and Sadar Upazila Youth Development Officer Awlad Hossain addressed as the special guests.
Highly lauding the BGMEA initiative, the speakers put maximum emphasis on skill development of the unemployed male and female youths of the erstwhile enclaves through combined efforts of all concerned to pave their way for employments.
They urged the public and private sectors for engaging efforts in turning the erstwhile enclave people into skilled work forces through providing them training on various trades for ensuring their employments both at home and abroad.
The chief guest suggested the trainee male and female trainees for applying the practical knowledge and technique they would achieve from the training course on sewing sweater and readymade handloom garments for achieving self-reliance.
