Four- day long inter battalion weight lifting competition of border guard Bangladesh (BGB) under Rangpur region concluded at training ground of 56 BGB Headquarters at Darwani in Sadar Upazila of Nilphamari district on Thursday .
A total of 124 contestants from all fifteen battalions under the region participated in eight weight lifting categories amid enthusiasm.
Brigadier General Nahidul Islam, BSP, NDC, PSC, Regional Commander attended the ceremony as Chief Guest while Rangpur Sector Commander Colonel EM Azizul Kahhar, PSC, G, Dinajpur Sector Commander Colonel Md Anisur Rahman, Thakurgaon Sector Commander Colonel Md Shamsul Arefin PSC attended there as special guests.
In the competition, Sepoy Durjoy Hajong of 15 BGB and Sepoy Sonta Chakma of 56 Border Guard Guard Battalion were declared as best junior and senior athlets respectively considering their outstanding performances.
