BGB seize 1,12,000 pieces of betel nut, wine

The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 42 Battalion seized foreign wine and 1,12,000 pieces of Betel nut from several area in separate drives in border area of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Monday.
BGB source said, acting on a tip-off a mobile team of BGB Damdamia BOP drive led by company Commander Sirajul Islam in Katakhali border mart of hoykong area of Tekanf. BGB recovered a large number polythene bag full of the betel nuts in the area. Later, the BGB member count down 1,12,000 pieces of wet betel nuts from those bag.
On the other hand, BGB Nila BOP drive led by Company commander Judge Miah in Naf river border area. BGB recovered a bag full of foreign wine in the area. Later, the BGB member count down 12 bottles wine.
Lt Col Abujar Al Jahid, Commander of Teknaf 42 Battalion, confirmed both incident and said the journalistsw that, the market value of the recovered wet betel nuts estimated TK 3 lakh 36,000 and wine Tk 18 thousand. The recovered betel nuts were handed over to the Teknaf Customs. The peddlers run away sensing the BGB men.
