BGB dominate first day in National Judo

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) dominated the first day of the33rd National Judo Competition that began on Friday at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
On the first day of the two-day meet, BKSP secured four gold medals.
In the women’s 78 kg plus weight category event, Tahmida Akter Lopa of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan won gold while Karina Khanom of Bangladesh Army bagged gold in the 78 minus weight category.
Besides, Maksuda of Bangladesh Ansar won gold in the 70 minus weight category event.
On the other hand, Hasanur Rahman of BGB won gold in men’s 100 kg plus weight category while Abul Kalam Azad of BGB secured gold in men’s minus 100 kg weight category event.
In the men’s minus 90 kg weight category event Jahangir Alam of BGB collected gold medal while Milon Mujumder of BGB won gold medal in the men’s minus 73 kg weight category event.
Earlier, State Minister for Youth and Sports Sri Biren Sikder, MP, formally inaugurate the meet as chief guest.
