Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) became champions of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry-Walton Independence Day Kabaddi Competition defeating Bangladesh Army by 19-13 points including one lona in the final at the Kabaddi Stadium on Thursday.
Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Police jointly finished third.
After the final match, State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Senior Additional Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn was with him as the special guest.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) and Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Parvez presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
General Secretary of BKF Md Nazrul Islam was present at the time.
A total of seven teams took part in the competition. They were: BGB, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence, Bangladesh Jail team and Bangladesh Navy.
