Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) appointed Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet as head of Bangladesh national football team for two months for the AFC Cup Play off matches against Bhutan on September 6 and 10 .
Addressing a press conference at the BFF Bhaban today (Monday) national team management committee’s chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed said: “BFF not only want victory against Bhutan from such a high quality coach like Tom Saintfiet but also expect something more for the development of country’s football.”
He said as Tom Saintfiet is a high quality coach, we will try to understand him ….. we will see whether there will be any understanding between him and us and then we will take any further action regarding him but now he has been appointed till Bhutan matches.
Saintfiet, earlier had coached Togo, Malawi, Yemen, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Meanwhile, Zakaria Babu was named his deputy of Tom Saintfiet.
