To support marginal farmers who are facing additional challenges due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Bayer has introduced a new global initiative – ‘Better Farms, Better Lives’.
The free distribution of Bayer’s hybrid rice seeds to smallholder farmers was kicked off at Dhanbari upazilla of Tangail district recently through a video conference.
Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, Agriculture Minister of Bangladesh, Peter Fahrenholtz, German Ambassador to Bangladesh, M Nasirumazzan, Secretary of Agriculture Ministry, D Narain, Senior Bayer Representative South Asia, Simon-Thorsten Wiebusch COO Crop Science division for India-Bangladesh Sri Lanka and Srinivasa Karavadi, MD Bayer Bangladesh, among others, were present.
