A betel leaf farmer succumbed to his injuries on the way to Faridpur Medical College Hospital in the morning of Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Jalal Uddin, 43, son of Tajim Uddin of Kashimpur village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
Jhenaidah police station officer- in- charge Amdadul Haque Shaikh said, Jalal was marching towards his house with the sale proceeds of his betel leaf from Jhenaidah market. At about 5.00 AM when he arrived near Jhenaidah government Keshab Chandra College, the miscreants stopped his bi-cycle and tried to snatch the money.
As he refused, the miscreants stabbed his parts indiscriminately leaving him injured in a critical state with the bi-cycle and money. He was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.
But the attending physician referred him to Faridpur medical college hospital. Jalal Uddin succumbs to his injuries on the way at about 11.30 AM.
The police was processing file a case with Jhenaidah Sadar police station in this connection, officer in charge said.
