The BEF was established in April 2013 by leading Bangladeshi economists living in Bangladesh and abroad, who felt that a greater synergy is needed between the policymakers and the academics to improve the discourse on Bangladesh’s development challenges.
The economists who constitute the BEF are all established non-partisan professionals living in Bangladesh or abroad whose common interest is to help Bangladesh move ahead in line with its full long-term development potential.
As an initial step, the BEF has already introduced the Forum to the public domain by holding a two-day workshop in June 2014 on leading long-term development issues of Bangladesh.
