In order to reach police services to the doorsteps of the people, Bangladesh Police has launched ‘Beat Policing’. It is a new concept for common people, but an effective one to spread policing service to the root levels.
Police Headquarters (PHQ) expanded beat policing activities to Union level following the directives of Imspactor General of Police (IGP)Dr.Benazir Ahamed.
When contact to Sr. Police Super( SP) in Kishoreganj Mashrukur Rahman Khaled Bpm (Bar) said that there was a time when people had to suffer a lot to get police services. They had to run here and there to meet the Officer, -in-Charge (OC)of the police station to lodge any complaint on set emergency police services. The beat policing activities in 133 centers in 108 unions in 13 Upazilas,8 municipalities of Kishoreganj.
Police have been to provide security to the people and police services to the people.
There is one beat officer (Sub-inspector) in each union Parishad and municipalities of Beat policing house to house, safe society building.
Sr SP Mashrukur also said, Beat In charge uses a governments authorized mobile number and the number is available to general public quick response to the crime spot Police members must be free from drugs to make it “People’s Police “,Sr. SP Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) added.
With such dynamism, Beat Policing is becoming more pro-active in serving the nation.
