Be vocal against discrepancy, abuse of religion: Dr Kamal

Jatiya Oikyafront Convener Dr Kamal Hossain said on Monday, there is no room for religion in politics. No discrimination can be done using religion. It is not ethical to become jealous of others in politics.
He said, the people of our country believe there is no discrimination in religion. The discrimination is the opposite of ethics, tradition and religion.
He said it at a condolence meeting held in the Jatiya Press Club in memory of those killed in the recent terror attacks at two mosques in New Zeeland’s Christchurch.
The prominent jurist said, “As a nation, we’re non-communal and we wholeheartedly believe in religious harmony as we co-exist with the people of all religions here.”
“It’s unconstitutional to destroy unity abusing religions. The key achievement of our independence is to ensure equal rights of all. It’s not acceptable in any way to create any division and disparity among people based on religions. Discrepancy is against principle, tradition and religion,” he said.

Nazrul Islam Khan said, a lot of killing incidents have occurred in our country. A large number of BNP’s leaders and activists have been killed, but nobody felt ashamed.
Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, it is a strange matter that we are living a country opposite to New Zeeland. We do not cultivate the humanity, we do envy. We have to mind it that there is no room for religion in politics.
Constitutional expert Dr Shahdeen Malik said, we spread hate and split if any incident happens in our country. Criticism is the part of politics.
Dhaka University Professors Dr Asif Nazrul called New Zeeland Prime Minister as ‘real mother of humanity’ and said, the fundamentalist tried to spread hate, but the Prime Minister resisted the evil plan by her strong leadership and love.
Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, ex-cabinet secretary Ali Imam Majumder and Dr Sukomal Barua, among others, spoke at the programme held with Kalyan Party Chairman Syed Muhammad Ibrahim in the chair.
