BDRCS distributes health safety items among 2,56,017 families

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) has continued with various operations to contain coronavirus (COVID-19) as the society till April 26 has distributed health safety materials like hygiene kits, soaps and hand sanitizers among some 2,56,017 families across the country.
The society in a press release on Wednesday said that it has also continued with spraying disinfectant at various establishments across the country, creating mass awareness among people on regular hand washing and maintaining social distancing to avert the spread of COVID-19.
The BDRCS is also continuing with its mental and social support cell to provide treatment facilities to the patients who are being affected from this deadly virus.
But, the authorities has, however, changed the schedule for getting services as the interested service seekers would now be able to take expert opinion and services everyday on Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm through dialing at 01811458541 and 01811458542 numbers. Besides, the society under its ongoing operations at Cox’s Bazar have distributed pre monsoon kits among some 90,918 Rohingya families staying in various camps there.
The officials familiar with the cell informed that many people from various corners of the country are taking services from this cell through phone calls. Besides, the hotline number 01811458524 has remained in operation round the clock.
Meanwhile, as part of its series of operations to contain COVID-19, the society volunteers have continued distributing awareness leaflets among people at Dhaka, divisional and district level, motivating people to hand washing, maintaining social distancing and distributing food parcels among the poor and destitute families.
