Bangladesh has received World Health Organization (WHO) certificate as a polio-free country, an official press release said on Sunday.
The Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Mumbai, India, Ms. Samina Naz received this certificate from the provincial government of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan at a function held in Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Saturday. The function was jointly organized by the Government of Maharashtra, WHO, Aditya Birla Group and Rotary International. Bangladesh has been declared as one of the 10 South Asian polio-free countries and certified by the WHO.
