Sports Reporter :After achieving a thumping 145-run victory against Zimbabwe in the first ODI on Saturday, highly motivated Bangladesh will meet Zimbabwe in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today. The day/night affair will begin at 1.00 pm. The BTV and the private satellite channel G TV will telecast the match live from the Stadium. Before today’s match, players of Bangladesh team sans Shakib Al Hasan and the members of Zimbabwe team took part in their respective practice sessions at Mirpur on Sunday.Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal said, ” I did not think that we could win the first match easily. Before the match, we believed that we could earn a hard-fought victory. We were very serious in the first ODI match.”Tamim said, ” We were not worried at all in the last match for a moment. Our temperament will be same in the tomorrow’s (Monday) match. We have to be serious in the next two matches. We have to be consistent in the next two matches. If we can do that, we shall win the matches.”Captain of Zimbabwe Elton Chigumbura said, ” We have to perform well, if we want to win the second match. We have come here to win. We have still chance though we were beaten by Bangladesh in the first ODI. We have to win next two matches. We shall try to come back in the next match and we shall earn the win.”Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has released all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan from the National squad for the series against Zimbabwe due to a family emergency. The Bangladesh Vice-Captain left for the USA on Saturday night to stay with his wife for the birth of their first child. The BCB takes this opportunity to extend the very best wishes to the couple.
