Bangladesh government has taken decision to send relief materials to quake-hit Nepal through Banglabandha Land Port of Panchagarh.
In this regard, the Government of Bangladesh has already talked to Indian government so that the relief materials could go to Nepal using the Indian territories.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the assertion at the inaugural session of an international conference on vocational training at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in city on Thursday.
“Bangladesh government has already talked to the Indian government regarding the transportation of relief goods to Nepal through Banglabandha Land Port after crossing a short distance of Indian territories to Nepal border,” she noted.
The PM said: “We have already sent relief materials for Nepal victims. But more goods are needed for them and so we are taking more initiatives.”
“We have already took initiatives to keep the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, airports in Chittagong, Sylhet, Syedpur and Air Strip in Lalmonirhat ready for handling the international relief materials coming for the Nepalese quake victims,” she said. Sheikh Hasina expressed her government’s determination to stand beside friendly country Nepal which had helped Bangladesh during its Liberation War.
The PM inaugurated the three-day International Conference on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for Sustainable Development, jointly organized by the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) and the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), Manila.
