BD take on Nepal in SAFF U-20 Champ today

Bangladesh Under-20 Football team will take on Nepal Under-20 Football team in their last group match of the SAFF Under-20 Championship at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar of India today. The match will kick-off at 4.30pm.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start as they beat Sri Lanka by a solitary goal in their first match on July 25 at the same venue.
Bangladesh maintained their winning streak as they defeated India by 2-1 goals in their second match on April 27 at the same venue.
Bangladesh thrashed Maldives by 4-1 goals in their third match on April 29 at the same venue.
A total of five teams are taking part in the SAFF Under-20 Championship. They are: Hosts India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives. Of them, two teams will get the tickets of the final. The final will be held on August 5.
Bangladesh took the top of the points table collecting nine points from three matches.
On the other hand, Nepal and India grabbed six points each from their respective three matches.
Bangladesh need just a draw to reach the final of the tournament.
Earlier, Nepal suffered a massive 0-8 goals defeat to India.
If India win over Maldives today, and Bangladesh lost to Nepal, by virtue of better goal difference, Bangladesh and India will play in the final.
Sri Lanka and Maldives were ousted from the tournament.
Goalkeeping Coach of Bangladesh Under-20 Football team Biplob Bhattacharjee said, ” The match between Bangladesh and Nepal is very much important for us. Because the finalist will be decided in that match. All of the soccer lovers are keenly waiting for the result of that match. I hope my boys will present their best in tomorrow’s match. I believe that we shall reach the final after beating Nepal.”
