BD take on Nepal in final of SAFF Women’s Champ today

Bangladesh Women’s Football team will take on Nepal Women’s Football team in the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal today. The match will kick-off at 5.15pm.
On the way to final, Bangladesh emerged the Group-A champions bagging maximum nine points from three matches.
Unbeaten Bangladesh blanked Maldives by three goals to nil in their first Group-A match on September 7.
Bangladesh crushed Pakistan by six goals to nil in their second Group-A match on September 10.
Bangladesh defeated India by three goals to nil in their third Group-A match on September 13.
Bangladesh thrashed Bhitan by eight goals to nil in the first semi-final on September 16 to storm into the final.
On the other hand, Nepal became champions in the Group-B match with maximum six points from two matches.
Nepal blanked Bhutan by four goals to nil in their first Group-B match on September 6.
Nepal outplayed Sri Lanka by six goals to nil in their second Group-B match on September 12.
Nepal beat India by a solitary goal in the second semi-final on September 16 to reach the final.
This is for the first time Bangladesh Women’s Football team will face Nepal Women’s Football team in the SAFF Women’s Championship in final. Before today’s final, Bangladesh Women’s Football team reached the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship just one time. But they lost to India in that final.  
After winning over Bhutan in the first semi-final, Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Sabina Khatun said, ” I am very happy for today’s victory. Our target was to play in the final. We have reached the final. Now we want to clinch the championship trophy.”
Player of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Maria Manda said, “

We don’t take hosts Nepal lightly. They are strong opponents. But
if we can play according to our game plan, we shall win over Nepal.”
It may be mentioned that ‘Goal Machine’ Sabina Khatun scored eight goals in this SAFF Women’s Championship campaign. She scored eight goals. She scored hat-trick against Pakistan in their Group-A match and then scored her second hat-trick in the semi-final against Bhutan. Sabina Khatun scored 32 goals playing 47 matches. She scored 22 goals in SAFF Women’s Championship, so far.
She said, ” I have tried to give my best in every match. We have come here with a dream. We want to give something special to our country. We want to achieve something special by scoring goals.”
