Asian Volleyball: BD suffer 0-3 sets defeat against Kyrgyzstan

Hosts Bangladesh suffered a straight 19-25, 27-25, 18-25 points (0-3 sets) defeat to Kyrgyzstan in a Group B match of the seven-nation DBBL Asian Senior Men’s Central Zone Volleyball Championship at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.
With the day’s debacle, the group champion hope of Bangladesh has become uncertain as their group rival and earthquake-torn Nepal beat Kyrgyzstan by 3-1 sets on Sunday.
Hosts Bangladesh, which made a flying start beating the Maldives by 3-1 sets in the tournament opener on Saturday, will play Nepal in the last group match on Tuesday at 6pm.
In Monday’s other match, Turkmenistan beat Afghanistan by 3-2 sets.
Today’s matches: Uzbekistan vs Turkmenistan (2:pm), Maldives vs Kyrgyzstan ( 4:pm) and Bangladesh vs Nepal ( 6:pm).
