UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh and Russia will sign a long-discussed agreement to establish an ‘intergovernmental commission’ on Wednesday to help take the relations to new heights.
The agreement will be signed at the Foreign Ministry in the presence of Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, said a
senior official on Tuesday.
The proposed deal will cover issues related to trade, economic, science and technology and steps will be taken to strengthen ties in these areas, the official told UNB.
Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander I. Ignatov will also attend the signing ceremony, the official said without naming the signatories to the agreement from both sides.
Earlier, the Russian Ambassador said they are quite happy with the way relations between Bangladesh and Russia are developing without any major problems or unsettled issues.
The major bilateral project between the two countries is the construction of Rooppur NPP.
